I just read an article in the LA Times about sundaes, and it was spelled that way! I like to distinguish it from days of the week.

And yeah, I eat Haagen-dazs (sp?), but it’s not my favorite.

I had a Sundae once or twice (I suppose it’s a trademark of that known brand) and didn’t find anything special.
Unless you call sundae to a specific kind of ice cream.
